Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • We make parts and assemblies lighter and stronger by combining A.I. with titanium replacements. Our approach improves performance in two ways. First, advanced A.I. tools help regenerate and optimize part geometry, removing unnecessary mass while maintaining strength, often reducing weight by 20–50% in typical topology optimized components, based on common engineering outcomes. Second, replacing steel, aluminum, or other metals with titanium provides exceptional strength-to-weight benefits; titanium offers roughly the strength of steel at about half the weight and far greater corrosion resistance. Together, these two steps, smart design and superior materials, deliver parts that are significantly lighter, stronger, and more efficient for demanding applications.

  • Our CREATE Prototype uses AI and generative algorithms to analyze your CAD model for weight reduction, printability, and performance improvements. The AI suggests optimized geometries, while our engineers review and finalize every design to ensure it meets real-world manufacturing and strength requirements. Autodesk AI tools and various visualization AI tools are used.

  • We’re based in Long Beach, California, where we handle design, engineering, and client communication. Our production network includes trusted partners specializing in titanium additive manufacturing.

  • We work with engineers, medical device developers, drone and robotic developers, startups, and industrial design teams seeking CAD design or titanium parts that combine lightweight efficiency with exceptional durability.

  • We accept most common 3D formats and documents, including STP, STL, IGES, OBJ, FBX, F3D, IGS, PDF, DOCX, PPTX, PPT.

  • Yes. Ownership and licensing terms are defined in our Service Agreement, and full ownership can be transferred to the client upon request before project initiation.

  • Yes. All submitted designs and data are treated as confidential. We protect client files in good faith and never use your designs for AI training or any purpose outside your project.

  • We print primarily with Ti6Al4V, known for its strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. Other materials may be available upon request.

  • Yes. Our additive manufacturing process supports complex geometries, internal channels, and lattice designs for weight reduction and performance optimization.

  • Typical lead times are 7–14 business days after design approval, depending on part size and complexity.

  • Your project investment is based on material volume, print time, finishing, and complexity. You’ll receive a quote after submitting your CAD file.

  • We accept credit and debit cards and Apple Pay through our secure payment checkout.

  • Refunds are handled in good faith, depending on the service:

    • CREATE Prototype: Refunds may be granted only after Nikalex has made reasonable efforts to resolve any issue with your design or deliverables.

    • Create to MANUFACTURE: If you are unsatisfied with a printed titanium part, a refund of up to 50% may be granted in good faith. If the part arrives damaged or defective, Nikalex may reprint the part at no additional cost upon verification.

  • Yes. We ship worldwide except sanctioned countries using insured carriers. You’ll receive tracking details as soon as your order ships.

  • If you choose CREATE Prototype (AI Redesign):

    1. Upload your CAD file.

    2. Our AI system analyzes your design and generates a redesigned, optimized version for strength, weight, and printability.

    3. A Nikalex engineer reviews and fine-tunes the AI redesign with you to ensure it meets your functional and manufacturing requirements.

    4. You receive the finalized, A.I.-optimized CAD ready for titanium 3D printing or other use.

If you choose Create to MANUFACTURE (3D Printing):

    1. Upload your final or AI-optimized CAD model.

    2. We review your file for print readiness and send you an investment estimate.

    3. Once approved and payment is complete, your titanium part enters production.

    4. After printing and finishing, the part is quality-checked, packaged, and shipped.

    5. You’ll receive a tracking number once your order is dispatched.

  • Once payment is completed, design changes depend on which service you’re using:

    • CREATE Prototype (AI Redesign): You may request up to two rounds of revisions as part of the service. Any additional revision beyond that will incur a fee equal to 10% of the total project cost.

    • Create to MANUFACTURE (3D Printing): After payment and once the part enters production, no further design changes can be made. Any modification after delivery is treated as a new project and billed separately. However, you will work with a Design Engineer to prepare your part for printing, that phase can include many design iterations.

  • Yes. After confirmation, you’ll be introduced to your assigned engineer, who will work with you on any required modifications before printing.

  • Yes. We offer various finishing options. Please request when placing an order.

  • You can reach us at info@nikalexinc.com or through the Contact page on our website. We usually respond within one business day.
